What is Placelist?
Placelist is a social software dedicate to demanding travelers. Using Placelist, you can create and manage your personal Placebook of recommended travel tips for hotels, restaurants. You can browse your friends best addresses, ask questions and connect with like-minded travelers.

Is Placelist membership free?
Yes, Placelist is FREE to users, no matter how many addresses and friends you add, or how much you use the site.

Why the hell did you create Placelist?
We love travel. We love finding great addresses and enjoy sharing them with our friends. But while there are thousands of travel sites, mostly to sell you packages, there is no recommandation site that cares about who you are and what your tastes are. By linking you with your network of friends, we think we provide the best user experience and therefore the most suited travel tips.

Placelist is about expressing who you are through your travel manners, and being able to share and interact on addresses you have visited. You are what you visit.

I can't find a hotel in your database; can I add it myself? How about loading my own travel photos?
Yes, this is what Placelist is about. Creating a user-generated database of addresses with true user content. We are not a catalogue, we are not brochure, we are not a travel agency. We are what you bring.

How do I add a hotel or restaurant to my Placebook?
To add good addresses to your Placebook simply create an account and then use the "add a place" menu. If this place is new to Placelist, you will be asked tp create its entry with your comments. If this place already exists, just add you personal notes. One way or the other, the place will then appear in your placebook (once validated by our administrators .. be patient, we may be at a good restaurant at that moment :-)

How do I remove a Place from my Placebook?
For the moment, you can't... We will add more features as we have time to... Stay tuned, we are in Beta mode and await your feedback (feedback@placelist.org)

What are Good Places?
Your Placebook is made of 2 types of addresses: the ones you reviewed and the ones Placelist suggests you, the Good Places. When you are connected to someone (either a Friend or just an interesting Reviewer), their places appear in the Good Places section of your Placebook.

How do I add Places to my Placebook.
Just write about it! Write a review on a place, whether it is a new one or an existing one in the Placelist database, and it will be included in your Placebook.

What browsers do you support?
We currently support the following browsers:

- Firefox 1.5 & 2.0 (on all platforms)
- IE 6.0+ & 7.0
- Safari 1.2+ & 2.0

Does Placelist work everywhere?
Yes! Although we are Europe-based, the most visited continent, we value all international users, and are working hard to make sure that Placelist works great everywhere.
